[NaPoWriMo Poetry- 28] “Inside a pool of sorry”

IMG_20190428_220945_634.jpg

I

dived inside

my pool of sorry

to find my treasure of reasons.

but could not breathe for too long,

my past choked me, I felt breathless and exhausted.

Over

these years,

every drop of sorry

has filled an ocean full of worry.

As

I swam

further inside

the light of virtues and purity

slowly disappeared, faded like the ink of memory.

All

I could see

was darkness of guilt.

The depth of my sorry is bottomless;

yet somehow, shallower than your forgiveness.

About National Poetry Writing Month : #NaPoWriMo is a creative writing project held annually in April in which participants attempt to write a poem each day for one month. This year in 2019 I will attempt to complete this challenge of 30 poems in the month of April. Please keep reading and supporting. Wish me luck !
