Gratitude hit my shores
like the acknowledgement of a miracle.
Amidst an adversity of survival;
it brought the comfort of being alive.
I feel grateful for the breath of mine
and of all those I call mine; the blossoms of my life.
I feel grateful for the colorful sight of my eyes,
witnessing the presence of loved ones,
I feel grateful for the taste of sweet beauty
and of sour, salty, bitter ugly.
In a world where luxury isn’t silver, gold or diamond;
but presence of a family, friend and love.
I feel grateful for the ability to hear their voices,
and to hear music; soft, loud, melodic or cacophonic.
I feel grateful for the nights and the dawns,
the failures and the successes that follow.
I feel grateful for this moment, for the memories
the past, present and future; my existence.
While we chase the big, celebrate the little;
and life will turn into a celebration.
