To ponder and gauge the text of this letter,
Brings me a jittery fretful unease.
Perhaps it will speak of unshed tears,
the losing of love, a note of death.
I wish to keep it unopened, to let the grief and sorrow,
trapped inside the envelope.
I fear to let loose, its words into our lives
as a scent of gloom, a smog of bitterness.
Or perhaps it brings to me, a kiss of beauty?
But I would never know, because my
fear clouds the sunshine of hope and love.
Till then, I leave it untouched; the unopened letter.
